Eagle Watching

Here in Illinois we have more wintering Bald Eagles than any other state outside Alaska. There are many places to observe bald eagles along the Mississippi River during the winter months (mainly December – March). Don't miss the change to see an eagle up close and other birds of prey at the many eagle festivals and events taking place along the byway. Check out our events calendar for what's happening this winter.
